Research is the key in the mission of safeguarding, valuing and disseminating the maritime and fishing heritage of the Catalan coast. 

It provides context, perspective and depth to the knowledge of the museum collections and it also nourishes of quality content the cultural and educational activities offered at the Fishing Museum. 

In the Espai del Peix, research is also the key to design cultural training and dissemination activities in the field of gastronomic heritage and promoting fishery products.
